The Campus Health VOICE student team were out on campus to raise awareness about National Non-Smoking Week, one of the longest running public health events in Canada. During the week, VOICE students shared information about the health effects of tobacco smoking, and provided resources and information to help people stop smoking and stay smoke-free. They also invited the campus community to share their thoughts about creating a healthier campus, including moving toward being a smoke free campus. Suggestions included:
- More support for stress reduction on campus (e.g., teach coping strategies, advertise walking areas)
- More education regarding smoking and vaping
- Improved promotion of smoking cessation support
- Opportunities to build student connections (e.g., movie nights on campus, cooking groups)
